Copyright

There are several reasons why a company or individual might file for copyright protection with the United States Copyright Office. In my opinion, the  main reasons why creators of work copyright  items is to protect themselves from other individuals and companies from making a profit off of their creation.
Copyright allows for the creator to have legal rights of financial restitution if the law deems financial loss for the creator due to the copyright infringement.
In its most general sense, a fair use is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited
and "trans-formative" purpose, such as to comment on, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work.
In my teaching copyright will be used with regard to the fair use act under  copyright statues.
My students will be made aware of the legal ramification of violation of these laws.
